Dados Históricos: A data de criação da cadeira pode datar de tempos primordiais, quando o ser humano utilizava-se de cadeiras simples feitas em pedra. Durante o período da Idade Média, as cadeiras passaram a ser artigos de luxo da nobreza e possuiam armações e construções diversas. A cadeira chegou ao Brasil no século XVI com a vinda dos portugueses. Até então, o mobiliário indispensável no país eram a rede de descanso e a esteira indígenas, ambas de fibras vegetais.

Historical Data: The date of creation of the chair can date from primordial times, when the human being used simple chairs made of stone. During the Middle Ages, chairs became luxury items of the nobility and had different frames and constructions. The chair arrived in Brazil in the 16th century with the arrival of the Portuguese. Until then, the indispensable furniture in the country was the hammock and the indigenous mat, both made of vegetable fibers.
