English Version

In the Sacred Art Museum of Mato Grosso are exhibited several remaining pieces of the Old Cathedral of Senhor Bom Jesus de Cuiabá, among them we highlight the tower clock connected to the bell and the iron cross that were located on the facade of the old cathedral.

The watch is composed of iron machinery of the 20th century, manufactured by the Italian family company Vitaliano Micheline, which operated in Brazil from 1908 to 1969, producing several watches in this format, including the clock found at the light station in São Paulo. Also included in the composition of the watch are a pendulum and two side weights, a bronze bell and a pointer watch with white stained glass, which have been assembled and are arranged in the museum in a structure made specifically to store it, so that the visitor can see your viewfinder and gears.

The cross, is a piece forged in metal cast in iron from the 18th century that had the purpose of ornamenting the center of the two towers, giving greater beauty and longevity to the external facade of the church. The cross has a trevolated shape, made hot and cold and its parts are joined by nails and rivets, it also has a radiant glow made of copper.
